A licensed clinical psychologist, Bert has worked with all manner of adult and adolescent populations and has taught in executive education to Master of Business Administration programs at Notre Dame, Southern Methodist University and Golden Gate University. For the last 20 years, he has worked as an executive coach, leadership trainer and executive alignment facilitator with STAGEN, Polarity Management, and The Power of TED. Bert loves teaching Forum Fundamentals and Forum Moderator & Leadership Development workshops trainings, as well as leading retreats where experiential exercises can be crafted to take forums to their next level of connectivity and performance.
Bert has been a leading voice in the Integral Movement during the last several years, and loves finding creative ways to assist people in taking more and better perspectives in the service of enhancing their communication skills, working more creatively with conflict, and becoming more resourceful regarding emotional intelligence abilities. He has been practicing meditation for decades and loves to bring movies and music to his work. Patti and Bert live with their 14-year-old golden retriever, Saffron, in north Dallas, where the children are close and where the two grandkids rule their lives on the weekends when they aren’t traveling or exploring.
Specialties
Before becoming a facilitator, Bert led interpersonal group process classes at several graduate university programs. He also was chief executive of a large group awareness training, and led week-long trainings on seminars focusing on various dimensions of experiential leadership learning. Most of these seminars were related to the “integral” framework; an approach that strives to be aware of multiple complexities, while at the same time, crafting creative simplicity on the other side of complexity. His mental models and experiential learning work draws on various components of systems that he has been certified in over the years: Shadow Work, Polarity Management, The Drama Triangle and Power of TED, Immunity to Change, etc. Bert has amassed amassed a wealth of tools and techniques that he weaves into workshop learning programs. These pearls are strung together to support greater awareness, deeper connection, enhanced authenticity, and trusted vulnerability in the service of individual and group transformation.
